Chemical substance from which the remedy is prepared: arsenic trioxide
Arsenic is of course the ‘archetypal’ poison and if anyone is asked to name a poison it is likely that they will mention this chemical. Arsenic’s potency as a toxin means, of course, that it can also be an extremely potent and valuable homoeopathic remedy, with wide-ranging constitutional effects in the body. There is of course no danger of toxicity in homoeopathic preparation since there are so few, or no, molecules of arsenic present in the prepared remedy. (more…)

All cats wash themselves - well, almost all; there are one or two that seem to prefer to rely on their fellows to do it for them - but this does not relieve you of the task of grooming to keep their coats in good condition. It will not only help to keep the cat clean and healthy, but will keep hairs off your furnishings as well. Do not think the occasional visit to an expensive pussy parlour will let you off the chore (if you have such establishments in your part of town). Unless the chauffeur takes the cat round every day, someone will still be lumbered with the job - or have you got staff to spare? You certainly need a healthy private income to keep on paying for a de luxe wash and set. (more…)

You can best see the enormous variety of cats by going to a show. Shows are usually arranged by cat clubs and associations according to very strict rules laid down by their governing body (such as the British Governing Council of the Cat Fancy). The pedigree classes will normally be open only to cats properly registered with that body, but local fetes and festivals often have cat competitions that welcome all comers; and even the prestigious National Cat Club show held in London every year has classes for non- pedigree domestic moggies so that anyone can enter their pet.
